Ali Potye – Teacher & Competition Choreographer
Alison Potye is a diverse and technical dancer. She began her dance career at the age of two, training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip-hop, and jazz funk. Alison considers her versatility to be her best asset. She has danced competitively for over fifteen years and won various awards, both as a dancer and choreographer.
Mental health is extremely important to her, as Ali holds her Master’s of Arts in Clinical Counseling Psychology, having graduated from Penn State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and Certified Clinical Child & Adolescent Anxiety Treatment Professional. Ali uses these skills to help the IMPACT community look after every dancer at the studio, and helps us to create a welcoming and open environment for every person in the IMPACT family. She owns her own practice in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and primarily works with anxiety and low self-esteem in children and teens.
Ali has had many of her dancers come back to her years later, to state the impact her teaching and coaching has had on their lives. For those who know her, Ali’s dance students come first, and she will do anything she can to help guide them both on and off the dance floor, making her a truly unique role model to have in their lives. Aside from competition dance, Ali has also had the opportunity to perform at the Philadelphia 76ers, Lincoln Financial Field, the Philadelphia Union and more. She uses her diverse experience to teach dance at various levels. Ali has also been an administrative assistant at Debra Sparks Dance Works in Newtown, PA, giving her insight into dance business and studio administration.
In addition to teaching at various dance studios, Ali was the long time dance coach for Council Rock High School North’s dance team. The team performed at the Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, and Trenton Thunder games under her direction. They also participated in various holiday parades, and put on a benefit performance show to help the local town movie theater.
