Yuki Ishiguro – Acro, Tricks & Contemporary
Born in Japan, Yuki Ishiguro is the Artistic Director of Bucks County-based contemporary dance company, Yu.S.Artistry. He founded the company in New York City in 2018, and relocated to Pennsylvania this past year. Yuki’s dance training started with breaking (breakdance), while attending Ritsumeikan University in Japan, where he completed a B.A. in Business. After graduating and working with a Japanese ballet company, he moved to NYC to continue his dance training and professional career. Yuki has performed with esteemed companies including: Emery LeCrone Dance, IsadoraNOW, Roxey Ballet , and Catapult Entertainment. Other credits include: Tommy Hilfiger, Fusion Flute Tour, Kenzie Slottow. Yuki also had the opportunity to work in collaboration with Japanese master Koto musician, Tomoe Sasano, at the esteemed Carnegie Hall in New York.
As Artistic Director for Yu.S.Artistry, Yuki’s choreography has been presented at various venues and festivals, such as: the Lincoln Center (NYC), The Tank (NYC), Queens Theater, the White Wave Festival at Dixon Place, Peridance (NYC), iKADA Dance Festival, Come Together Dance Festival (Philadelphia), and inHale/exHale (Philadelphia). In addition to his choreographic pursuits, Yuki is a passionate dance educator, teaching master classes at Nazareth College, and is currently on staff for the Rock School West. In 2023, Yuki received his United States authorized artist green card and presented an evening-length production at Villa Joseph Marie Theater.
Yuki’s dream for Yu.S.Artistry is to import new contemporary styles of dance to the Bucks County region, and the greater Philadelphia area, by continuing to make his own work, inviting guest choreographers, and training/hiring local dancers to create a richer dance community for all.
